When Tamil Culture Honoured Tamil Science: Our Thiruvalluvar Statues Join a Historic Moment

On October 2, 2023, Tamil Nadu proudly celebrated nine of its own — scientists who played key roles in India's landmark Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1 space missions. In recognition of their extraordinary contributions, Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin felicitated each of them with ₹25 lakh, and announced scholarships in their names for government school students pursuing engineering.

As part of this historic event, a gesture of deep cultural significance was included — and we at Silaisei.com are humbled to have played a small role in it.

Thiruvalluvar: A Symbolic Tribute from Tamil Nadu to the Stars

Each scientist was presented with a statue of Thiruvalluvar, the timeless Tamil poet-philosopher whose Thirukkural continues to guide lives across the world. These statues were created by us at Silaisei.com, with every detail crafted to honour the dignity and wisdom Thiruvalluvar represents.

The statues were officially commissioned and presented through Poompuhar, a division of the Tamil Nadu Government (TN Handicrafts Development Corporation). From there, they were handed over to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, who personally presented them to the nine scientists during the ceremony.

To us, this wasn't just about creating a statue — it was about creating a bridge. A connection between Tamil Nadu's rich cultural past and its brilliant scientific present.

A Moment of Pride for Silaisei.com

To see our work become a part of this grand moment — reaching the hands of ISRO scientists through the Chief Minister himself — is an honour we will always cherish. It reflects what we believe in at Silaisei.com: that art, heritage, and identity still have a place in our modern stories.

This event wasn't only about achievements in space — it was about reminding the world that Tamil excellence isn't limited to the past, and Tamil pride isn’t stuck in stone. It evolves, grows, and reaches new heights — from the words of Thiruvalluvar to the launchpads of ISRO.

Thank You, Tamil Nadu

We thank Poompuhar and the Government of Tamil Nadu for including our work in this occasion of state pride. And to the nine scientists who carry our Tamil identity to the stars — we salute you.
