Raja Raja Chola – Keralanthagan Sculpture
A creation of unmatched scale and historical depth.
For the first time ever, the ancient Chola paintings from the Thanjavur Big Temple have been brought to life as three-dimensional sculptures. What once existed only as faded murals of the Chola era now stands in sculpted form — researched, reimagined, and reborn.
This monumental artwork features over 338 individual sculptures intricately composed within a single creation, centered around the majestic Raja Raja Chola, known as Keralanthagan. Every figure, every gesture, and every ornament has been carefully studied and sculpted to echo the spirit of the Chola dynasty’s artistic excellence.
After deep historical research and months of dedicated craftsmanship, the sculpture was completed in fiberglass with a bronze-finish, standing proudly at 2 feet in height — yet carrying the essence of an empire within it.
This masterpiece was conceptualized and sculpted by Ashok, with the valuable support of Barath and Sibi Chakravarthy
